In endodontic treatment there are numerous compounds available to serve as
temporary intracanal dressings. In some cases it can even be considered to
finish the root canal filling within one session and therefore no use of root canal
dressings at all. Out of reasons of time or that the requirements for a definite
root canal filling are not given, the exigency of applying an intracanal dressing
may occur. As these compounds are in contact to dentine for a longer period of
time, they might affect the bond strength between dentine and root canal sealer.
The aim of this study was to evaluate a potential impact caused by the use of
any intracanal dressing on the bonding ability of AH 26 by using a pull-out
testing procedure.
