Abstract

Elisabeth, the first queen of Romaia and princess of Wied, was a popular German poetess at the end of the 19th century. Starting point of this dissertation is the thesis, that the motivation of the childless monarch wife, Elisabeth, to appear as an authoress in the public, is in causal connection with the attempt of her own positioning in the politico-cultural context starting with the year 1881, when Romania became an independent kingdom.
