Abstract

The dissertation is divided into following themes: the situation of the staff, of buildings and the care of sick persons at the Medical Faculty of Marburg during the post war period 1945-1950 under American occupation. The process of denazification on the Medical Faculty was affected by depositions, reemployments, trials at so called “Spruchkammern” and vocations. The second part shows the loss of clinical structure and a detailed outline over the occupation of clinical beds respectively the military hospital beds which were located in the same clinics. The third part discusses the difficulties of three different cases of illness, to whom was paid special attention. These are patients who suffered from tuberculosis or from venereal diseases, or pregnant patients, who applied for abortions.
