Abstract

Tumor developement following urinary diversion is a worldwide accepted late complication. In contrast tumor risk in other forms of urinary diversion with separartion of urine and feces is still unclear. A modified rat-model was used to investigate incidences, latency period and tumor risk in different forms of urinary diversion. Furthermore a complete and detailed analysis of all reported tumors following urinary diversion using isolated gut segments in the world literature is given.
