Abstract

For the treatment of hypoparathyreoidism exists the possibility of Transplantation of the parathyreoid tissue without immunosuppression by microencapsulation in alginate. A sufficient nutritive supply and oxygen diffusion are of special importance for the transplantation. Oxygen is twice as soluble in perfluorocarbons as in blood. therefore it was to be examined in this study whether and in which form stability and supllying of oxygen of the alginate beds can be improved by additive of the perfluorocarbon FC 43. In three in vitro test series parathyreoid tissue of 2 patients with secondary hypoparathyreoidism was examined. As result the perfluorocarbon FC 43 in a concentration from 0,1 % can improve the function and stability to the alginate beds.
