Abstract
Summary
The present study aims to compare sleep through polysomnography as well as the cognitive output profile with an comprehensive and strictly controlled neuro-psychological clarification with three certain groups of patients.
In contrast to most previous studies on this subject we tried to examine patients of the three groups IPS, MSA and RBD in a rather early stage, i.e. shortly after giving of the diagnosis.
Besides we investigated whether there is a correlation between the parameters of sleep-EEGs and the specified collection of cognitive output in these groups of patients.
Considering the given limitations like small size of patient groups and the fact that we had to deal with a cross-section study and not a longitudinal study, the present work provides new aspects of the occurrence of disorders in cognitive output and sleep within these patient groups.
