Abstract

The concept of Stereotype-Framing developed in this dissertation links the socio-psychological Stereotype Content Model to the concept of Framing, which derives from political communication research. The empirical analysis is focusing on the social groups of the unemployed and poor, the disabled and sick as well as on Muslims. Two East German regional daily newspapers serve as material for analysis: the Nordkurier from Neubrandenburg and the Volksstimme from Magdeburg.
