Abstract

Within these studies a novel structure of electrospun fibers ("barbed nanowires") has been prepared and explored. According to the experimental parameters a model that is based on specific relaxation times has been established. Furthermore a new rasp-technique has been used to prepare short fibers from these barbed nanowires and other polymer fibers so that they can be used as drug carriers for targeted drug delivery via inhalation. Chemical/physical as well as structural surface properties have been modified or suitable conditions have been developed respectively.
