Abstract

This doctoral thesis deals with the synthesis and characterization of cyclopentadienylidene phosphorane complexes of iron and ruthenium. In the case of ruthenium, these compounds can be used as catalysts with ionic phosphonium group enabling an immobilization in ionic liquids. The focus of this work is the synthesis of ferrocenylphosphonium compounds. By varying the substituents on the ferrocene backbone various redox-active ionic liquids can be generated.
