Soziable Arbeit?! Ein Blick auf die Strategien und die soziale und wirtschaftliche Situation von Kulturarbeiter_innen Anregungen für eine zukunftsorientierte Arbeitspolitik
The dissertation of Simone Mazari „Strategies and the Social and Economic Situation of Cultural Workers. Ideas for future labour politics“ deals with the labour related potential of cultural work. The study is based on a neo-institutional approach of employment structuring institutions (L. Pries) and the idea of sociability („Soziabilität”). Empirical findings reveal the working and living conditions of cultural workers in Frankfurt Rhine-Main and in Madrid. Labour politics (Frieder Naschold and Alexandra Scheele) is about structuring working and living conditions. Quantitative developments in the field are illustrated by statistics of the federal employment agency and of the social insurance for artists („Künstlersozialkasse“), plus expert interviews with trade union representatives. Precarization increases the necessity of social political action. This means that labour politics should also consider politics such as social politics or housing.
