Abstract
It is not possible to differ a dilated cardiomyopathy from an alcoholic cardiomyopathy neither with echocardiographic measurements nor with invasiv methods.
Patients with myocarditis and alcohol abuse have a poor prognosis.
So the question is, if the carbohydrate-deficient transferrin could be used as a marker to differ the dilated cardiomyopathy from the alcoholic cardiomyopathy.
Are there any differences between the viral persistence, the grade of infammation and the fibrosis in dilated and alcoholic cardiomyopathy?
