Abstract

One of the most important criteria to evaluate composite restorations is the marginal fit. Besides material properties and technical application, the cavity preparation has an influence on the formation of a marginal gap and thus on the longevity of a composite filling. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of different cavity preparations and artificial ageing on the quality of the marginal fit of class II and class V cavities.
