This dissertation is concerned with issues of empirical adult education and qualification. In the overall context of the debate on competence in adult education and regarding the increased importance of counseling, the thesis focuses on consultancy efforts in concrete procedures of competence balancing.
Therefore, ProfilPASS counselings are investigated that are offered and conducted in institutions of adult education (primarily Volkshochschulen). For this purpose, the study evaluates interviews with experts and analyzes them, so subjective views of counselors on their active counseling can be presented in detail. The aim of the study is to collect empirically knowledge of active counseling from the perspective of the counselor, which is related to the ProfilPASS.
