Abstract

The success of dental prphylaxis observed in Germany in recent years, is closely connected with the unse of fluorides. This study, cuducted in a group of 15-year-olds from the areas around Hiligenstadt, Duderstadt and Marburg-Biedenkopf, aimed at checking which prohylaxis measures were individually connected with the dental health. The participants prophylaxis exposure was collected by means of special questionnaires which were filled out by the dental public health services (for the group prophylaxis), the parents (for the former prophylaxis measures at home) or by the participants (for the current prophylaxis measures at home). 1409 15-year-olds could be acquired to participate in this study, which amounts to a sampling ratio of 67,9%.
