Abstract

To solve problems in the total synthesis of guignardon A, two methods were developed and their usability investigated. Firstly, the stereoselective rhodium-catalysed 1,4-addition of alkenylzirconocenes to cyclic enones with subsequent transformation of the intermediate enolates and, secondly, the palladium-catalysed cross-coupling of alkyl- and arylzirconocenes to alkenyl- and arylnonaflates.
