Abstract
While the emotionally unstable personality disorder or borderline personality disorder is the most researched personality disorder in adulthood, research results relating to this personality disorder in childhood and adolescence are very limited. The aim of this study is to describe a whole population of adolescent inpatients with the diagnosis of an emotionally unstable personality disorder in a German child and adolescent psychiatric setting and to verify six hypotheses relating to this disorder.
