Abstract

Historical ceramics is an important realia to describe the history of culture. It helps to interpret important events on the level of allday culture. The Marburg Ware, an earthenware of the 19th century, describes city histotry of this period as well as the social topographie of the city, political events and the scientifical reception in of the ceramics in history and today.
