In this study two groups of patients were assessed using a different post operative pain management method. Each group had 130 patients who had the same type of operations but with different graduations. The postoperative pain was controlled by the nurses using the NRS (numeric rating scale) during the first two days following surgery. The results showed that the patients being treated using the “Stufenkonzept” (pain level rating concept) had a significant better pain management than the patients with an individual concept.
