Abstract

This work involves the theory of tragedy by Friedrich Schiller. The work is divided into introduction, three chapters and an ending word. I tried in the introduction to analyse the theories and philosophies from Aristoteles through Shakespeare, the french klassikers, Kant to the tragedy theory of Schiller. I analysed in the first chapter the charakters Karl and Franz Moor, also the father and the religiuos hints in the drama. I tried in the chapter about "Maria Stuart" to analyse both charakters (Elisabeth and Maria) and the meeting between both queens. I tried in this chapter to show why and how Maria Stuart is a sublime figure and a "schöne Seele". I treated in the third chapter the play "Die Braut von Messina" and especially the role of the choir and tried to show why is Don Cesar not a sublime figure. The ending word contains all the results and conclusions I collected during the work.
