Abstract

"The Meaning in Life" has become a thoroughly investigated theme in the social sciences. This study aimed at providing further research with a psychometric instrument in the German language. According to international results shows the "Life Regard Index Revised - LRI-r" (Battista & Almond, 1973; revision Debats, 1998)excellent reliability and validity. The items did not load consistently relateing to the two subscales "Framework" and "Fulfillment" as theoretically supposed. Negative and positive wording of the items had great influence. The recommendation for use as a single scaled instrument could be given.
