The objective of these studies has been the developement of novel preparation routes to structured nanofibers. The chemical composition and structure had to be adjusted to chosen future technologies, such as fuel cells and the specific enrichment of marine biopolymers. The generally used method has been electrospinning of precursor systems followed by chemical processes, which selectively led to different inorganic or polymeric/inorganic hybrid fibers.
