The present study analyses the effects of introducing the DRG system using the example of the Neurologische Klinik Bad Zwesten, a relatively homogeneous 40 beds department within a neurological centre including all stages of neurological treatment. For that purpose, collectives of patients before and after the implementation of the DRG systems were evaluated. In hospital treated patients of the Neurologische Akutklinik of each half-year 1996 (n=463) and 2008 (n=910) were compared. The main results could be found in the alterations concerning main diagnosis, length of stay and in a hypothetical comparison of the reimbursement of hospital treatments.
