Abstract
In dieser Arbeit wird die Bereitschaft zur Teilnahme an advance care planning (ACP) mithilfe der theory of planned behavior (TPB) untersucht. Die Auswertung erfolgt mittels qualitativer Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring. Dabei zeigt sich die Bereitschaft als Prozess, welcher verschiedene Stadien und Arten der Bereitschaft beinhaltet (erste Auseinandersetzung, Handlungsbereitschaft, inhaltliche Bereitschaft). Die TPB kann gut hemmenden sowie fördernde Faktoren für die Bereitschaft zur Teilnahme an ACP abbilden. Sie muss jedoch um einige Faktoren wie Voraussetzung für Zugang zu ACP und die wahrgenommene Verhaltenskontrolle im Gesprächsprozess erweitert werden, um das Inanspruchnahmeverhalten von ACP vollständig zu beschreiben. Es folgt eine Handlungsempfehlung zur Förderung der Bereitschaft zur Teilnahme an ACP.
This study examines the readiness to participate in advance care planning (ACP) using the theory of planned behavior (TPB). The analysis is conducted through qualitative content analysis according to Mayring. The readiness is seen as a process involving different stages and types of readiness (initial engagement, action readiness, content readiness). The TPB can effectively capture inhibiting as well as facilitating factors for the readiness to participate in ACP. However, it needs to be expanded to include factors such as prerequisites for access to ACP and perceived behavioral control in the communication process, in order to fully describe the uptake behavior of ACP. A recommendation for action to promote readiness to participate in ACP follows.
