Opacification of implanted artificial lenses poses a significant challenge to patients, physicians, and hospitals. There are several studies and publications dealing with the analy-sis of opacified lenses. This retrospective, multicenter case series is to report functional and anatomical results of 223 opacified intraocular lenses made of various materials. 201 of these intraocular lenses were produced by the manufacturer Oculentis B. V. The revision surgery can improve the visual acuity subjectively and objectively. An increased prevalence of diabetes mellitus has been demonstrated as a possible trigger. The revision procedure was significantly more time-consuming and complicated than the primary routine procedure. It is subject to a learning curve.
