Organotin sulfide clusters were substituted with polycyclic aromatic molecules, such as bipyridine, phenanthroline, pyrene, perylene or corannulene. The obtained compounds were investigated for their behavior towards transition metals. On the one hand, transition metal compounds in solution were attached to organotin sulfide clusters by chelating substituents. On the other hand, organotin sulfide clusters with polycyclic aromatic substituents were deposited on metallic surfaces. In addition, the optical properties, such as absorption behavior and luminescence properties, of all the compounds generated were investigated.
