Abstract

Every third child in Germany is affected by the divorce of its parents. For both, children and parents it is generally very difficult to cope with the situation. Children of divorce are the main part of clients in educational and family counseling. A fact, that makes the relevance of interventions for this group of clients clear. The first part of this publication includes a summary of divorce researches, educational and family counseling, groups for children and evaluation. In the second part a description of a conception for groups of children of divorce is given, that is based on the conceptions of Fthenakis et al. (1995) and Jaede, Wolf und Zeller-König (1996). The third part contains a qualitative evaluation of three groups for children of divorce, that focuses the opinion of the children who participated in the groups.
