Abstract

The key issue of the dissertation "Memoria and Denomination" is to explore the possible influence of (Lutheran) denomination on the iconography of art in Early Modern Times. The material of this study consists of the hanging funeral monuments of St. Amandus Church in Urach. Those monuments are still placed in their original context. As a former administration town of the Duchy of Württemberg, Urach represents an excellent base to examine the influence of (Lutheran) denomination on art.
