Abstract

In the analysis of the treatment of the carcinoma of the larynx in Kenya we found in compare with international studies a greater portion of T3 and T4 carcinomas with 81 %. This could be explained by the lack of financial ressources and the lack of doctors. Another problem is the bad information of the population about the malignancy of the disease and that it is necessary to begin a therapy early. 70 % of the patients with a carcinoma of the larynx were treated by radiotherapy, 10 % have been operated, 20 % have not been treated. The evaluation of the success of the treatment was not possible because the follow up has not been accomplished in regular terms.
