Abstract
Deletions of tumor suppressor gene p16 in Philadelphia-chromosome positive adult patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia can be found by means of fluorescence-in-situ hybridisation in 28% (homozygous) or 8% (hemizygous)respectively (n=25).
Hemizygous deletions of tumor suppressor gene TP53 in Philadelphia-chromosome positive adult patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia can be found by means of fluorescence-in-situ hybridisation in 3%. These hemizygous deletions have often been shown to be due to an isochromosome 17q (n=27).
