Abstract

This study focuses on the question of the appropriateness of methods of data collection. Based on theroetical and empirical research in the field of evaluation of university courses a catalogue of criteria for assessing the characteristics and fitness of data collection methods is developed. The catalogue is intended for practical use, e.g. to support practitioners deciding which methods to use or to help stakeholders of evaluations to asses the quality of a study. It is designed to integrate with the Standards for Evaluation published by DeGEval - Gesellschaft für Evaluation.
