Description
This dataset contains the research data and scripts produced as part of my PhD thesis “Sozioreligiöse Nähe ermitteln: Eine historische Netzwerkanalyse zur Verortung der pietistischen Gräfin Erdmuthe Benigna von Reuß-Ebersdorf (1670 – 1732)” (https://doi.org/10.17192/openumr/588).
It includes:
a) an XML file containing the transcribed and annotated letters that constitute a central corpus of the thesis (sources/letters.xml).
b) XSLT scripts for data validation and for generating a GraphML file from the letter annotations, enabling analysis with the network analysis tool NodeXL (scripts/..).
c) a GraphML file as an import format for NodeXL, as well as XLSX files generated with NodeXL (an MS Excel add-in) and corresponding network visualizations (NodeXL/..).
d) an XLSX file compiling frequency calculations carried out as part of the ego-centric network analysis (NodeXL/egocentricNetwork/frequencies.xlsx).
e) CSV files for analyzing the effects of missing data using the robustness test tool by Yann C. Ryan and Sebastian E. Ahnert (https://github.com/networkingarchives/network_robustness_ca_article), along with the resulting graphical outputs (robustness/..).
