Abstract

The religious life beyond traditional institutions of religion is not only a field for expression of alternative spirituality, but an indicator for processes of pluralization and individualization in modern societies. These processes are reconstructed in this study by the example of the "wise women", a group of woman in Germany with neopagan religious practices and beliefs. The results of this study, based on fieldwork, are a contribution to the discussion about models of religious change and transformation in the contemporary religious culture.
