Bismuth Radical Catalysis: Thermally Induced Intramolecular C(sp3)−C(sp) Cyclization of Unactivated Alkyl Iodides and Alkynes

Abstract

Bismuth compounds are exploited as catalysts for the selective radical cyclization of alkyl iodides onto alkynes. In contrast to related systems, the bismuth species operate under purely thermal conditions (i.e. the reactions successfully proceed in the dark).
