Abstract

The paper focuses on the regional and local organisation of the campaign of indulgences in favour of the Hospitallers in Rhodes (1480-81). In addition to considering different kinds of sources, it primarily takes into account a letter of appointment for four local subcommissioners which is preserved in the State Archives of Hesse in Marburg.
