Abstract
Simple anionic bismut(I) compounds grant access to bismuth acyl compounds for the first time. These compounds reversible eliminate/insert carbon monoxide upon irradiation with visible light. This mimicks important elementary reactions that have been realized for transition metal chemistry now for the first time in light-driven main group chemistry .
